Yard Rules

No-one likes too many rules, however sometimes one person's idea of common sense is different to others. Below you'll find the MBD EC rules which are in place to ensure a safe and harmonious place for all clients to enjoy.
  • Hats must be worn at all times while mounted on a horse/pony

 

  • Any children under the age of 16 visiting the yard MUST be under constant supervision at ALL times 

 

  • All visiting dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and must be cleaned up after.

 

  • All droppings must be removed from the arenas

 

  • If you use Poles/Jumps/Other Equipment in the schools, it must be put away after use

 

  • Any breakages/damage caused by Horses/ Owners/ Riders/ Guests/ Professionals invited by the owner must be reported to a member of staff ASAP and must be paid for

 

  • Horsebox parking is available but it is entirely at the risk of the owner

 

  • Horses must be turned out only in their allocated paddock

 

  • The Tack Room door MUST be kept closed at ALL times

 

  • Any veterinary drugs/medications must be given to a member of staff who will correctly secure it and will make sure that no form of contamination can occur with the other horses.

 

  • Any visiting Instructors MUST hold valid insurance and MUST be properly Qualified (Copies of both insurance and qualifications need to be shown to a member of staff prior to a lesson for insurance purposes).

 

  • Any visiting Professionals (Farrier/dentist/therapist etc) MUST hold valid insurance and be properly qualified - all visiting professionals are used entirely at the owners risk.

 

  • Washing off horses must only be done in the designated area unless permission has been sought and given by a member of staff

  • Each stable will be provided with a trunk to sit outside it.  This is for your equipment, please make sure that anything you wish to leave by your stable is left in this trunk

 

  • Please leave the yard, car parks and arenas as clean and tidy as possible

 

  • Please be polite & courteous to the other liveries, visiting Professionals and any visitors that may be at the yard.

 

  • Any form of aggression, either towards other people or animals, will NOT be tolerated on the yard

 

  • Tea/Coffee will be provided by the yard, however, all food and drink preparation facilities are used entirely at your own risk 

 

  • Please ensure you wash up after yourself if you use the above facilities.

 

  • Please ensure that no water is left running and that lights are not left on unnecessarily

 

  • The arena lights are only to be switched on when the arena is in use.

 

  • Please put all rubbish in the bins provided

 

  • The yard is a NO SMOKING yard. 

 

  • If you are on the yard outside of normal hours, please be mindful of the local residents and keep noise to a minimum 

 

  • Please ensure all gates are kept closed at all times.

 

  • The MBD EC management reserves the right to refuse entry to any person at their discretion.

 

Events Terms & Conditions

No liability shall fall on the Organisers, Landowners, Sponsors or Officials in respect of any loss, damage or injury however so caused all all attendees are deemed liable to indemnify the said persons in respect of any loss, damage or injury.
For events featuring guest trainers, no liability shall fall on the Organisers, Landowners, Sponsors or Officials in respect of any loss damage or injury caused through action or negligence by the guest trainer. Any issue of liability should be raised directly with the guest trainer.

Every effort will be made to accommodate requests for specific times, but this cannot be guaranteed.

Correct riding attire must be worn at all times. ALL RIDERS, whether competing or not, must wear the correct headgear, PAS 015 or prefixed ASTM or SEI are the minimum standard but riders have to be responsible for their own safety. Failure to wear correct headgear will incur elimination. 

Entries may be refused without reason being given and there will be no entitlement to any refund unless a clinic is cancelled due to insufficient entires, or a Medical/Veterinary Certificate is produced. Up to 25% entry money may be retained to cover administration costs.

If a rider wishes to cancel their attendance within 7 days of the date of the event, they will not be entitled to a refund unless a medical/veterinary certificate is produced. Up to 25% entry money may be retained to cover administration costs. 

The Organiser will assist in filling a cancelled space, but responsibility for doing so rests with the attendee.

Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept on leads at all times

Please help us keep our facility looking smart, take your litter home and clear up after yourself, your dogs and your horses.

Competition Terms & Conditions

 

No liability shall fall on the Organisers, Landowners, Sponsors, Judges or Officials in respect of any loss, damage or injury however so caused all all competitors are deemed liable to indemnify the said persons in respect of any loss, damage or injury.

Every effort will be made to keep to the schedules, but we reserve the right to alter the order and composition of classes or to cancel them.

Any competitor may be warned or disqualified for improper or excessive use of whips, spurs e.t.c or other actions which the judges or Officials consider warrants such penalty.

The ruling of the judges is final. All complaints must be put into writing and handed to the secretary with a deposit of £20 within 15 minutes of the incident, returnable if the objection is upheld.

Change of horse or rider must be notified to the Secretary 15 minutes before the start of the class or the entry will become void. Change of both horse and rider will not be accepted.

It is the responsibility of competitors to know the rules - our stewards and officials are there to help and advise.

All shows will be run in accordance with British Dressage rules
